Wai Tim Petersen grew up in Manson, WA. and moved to Tacoma, WA to pursue his education. He returned to the valley 15 years later for work and the pace of life this area offers. He currently holds the position of Director for the Manson Parks and Recreation District. Under his management the District is responsible for seven parks, including a campground, boat launch and a marina.

Throughout his life and career, athletics played a huge role in shaping his personal and professional development. He feels one of the best vehicles for teaching kids and people of all ages is through the physical and recreational arenas. Given his role as Director with the Manson Parks and a board member for the Lake Chelan Recreation Development Foundation, he actively promotes physical and recreational activities within the valley, as ample opportunities abound here. Camping up lake with his kids is a favorite pastime and he also enjoys woodworking.
