Several years ago, Mike Sherer Chair of LCRDF at the time, approached Mike Naumus about the possibility of donating land at the Apple Blossom Center area to the community for future baseball fields.  Naumus agreed, made the generous donation to the City and then the City created an agreement with the Lake Chelan School District to create baseball fields.

Just prior to the baseball field final design efforts, Scott McKellar, Chair of LCRDF, created the "Soccer Field of Dreams Committee" and became a Co-Chair with Gilberto Romero.  The Committee packed the room during several School Board meetings and convinced the Board to build two new soccer fields above the three baseball fields.

The new soccer fields were finished in 2011 and the inaugural game was played at the last of the Chelan Girl's Soccer team season.  The new soccer fields will certainly enhance the soccer abilities for local youth.
